Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
This policy describes how Wuno Studio (“we”) handles information in the Juno iPhone app. It is the privacy policy for Juno. Questions: contact@wunostudio.com.
Who this applies to
Juno is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided information, email us and we will delete it.
Information we collect
Account
You sign in with Apple. We receive an Apple account identifier and, when Apple provides it, a name or email relay. We create an account id so your settings and subscription can stay with that sign-in. We store the Apple credential material required to revoke Sign in with Apple when you delete your account.
Subscription
Purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment card number. We store the subscription status Apple reports (for example trial, active, or expired), the product, the expiry, and Apple’s original transaction id so the app can tell whether this account is subscribed.
What you scan
The camera is used only to read book barcodes and spine text while you are using the scanner. That reading happens on your iPhone. We do not upload camera frames, photos, or video, and we do not use the camera for advertising or face recognition.
The text and barcodes extracted on the device — such as a title, author, or ISBN — are sent to our servers so we can identify the book and return resale price and sales-rank information. Those lookup requests are stored with your account until you delete it. We also store the scan preferences you set: minimum resale price, sales-rank filter, and watchlist keywords and authors.
Diagnostics
We collect crash reports and product analytics (for example that a purchase or scan flow started). We do not use this for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. The app does not request App Tracking Transparency.
How we use it
- Sign you in and keep your account
- Show or hide the scanner based on a subscription Apple has verified
- Identify scanned books and show resale signals that match your filters and watchlist
- Fix crashes and understand whether the app is working
- Delete your data when you delete your account
We do not sell personal information.
Who receives it
- Apple. Sign in with Apple, subscription billing, and, if you tap them, eBay or Amazon listing pages opened in the app. We do not send your account to those stores; the page is a search for the book’s ISBN.
- Google Firebase. Account authentication, storage of your user record and scan jobs, processing of lookup requests, crash reports, and product analytics.
- Book and pricing services. A title, author, or ISBN from a scan may be sent to services that return bibliographic details and resale signals. We do not send those services your name, email, or Apple ID.
Retention and deletion
We keep account, preference, subscription, and scan-job data while your account exists. In the app, open Settings and tap Delete Account. That removes the sign-in, your user record, stored Apple credential material, and scan jobs tied to you.
Deleting the Juno account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Billing continues until you cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. You can also email contact@wunostudio.com if in-app deletion fails and we will delete the account data we still hold.
Your choices
- Camera access can be turned off in iOS Settings. The scanner will not work without it.
- You can sign out without deleting data.
- You can delete the account in the app, as described above.
- California residents can ask what personal information we hold and ask us to delete it. We do not sell personal information, and we will not discriminate against you for asking.
- If you are in the EEA or UK, you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal information, or object to processing based on our legitimate interest in running and securing the app. Email the address above. You may also lodge a complaint with your local authority.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Access to account records is limited to the signed-in user and to our systems that verify subscriptions and complete lookups. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date on this page. Continued use of Juno after the change means you accept the updated policy.
