What is Juno?

Juno is an iPhone app for book resellers. Point your camera at a shelf: Juno reads barcodes and spine text at the same time, places small green and purple markers in AR on the spines it matches, and pulls up accurate book details, such as title and author, when you scan a barcode.

How do I scan my first shelf?

Open Juno, allow camera access, and open the scanner. Hold your phone a short distance from the shelf with the spines facing you, and move slowly from left to right. Juno reads barcodes and spine text together. To see a book's title and author, scan its barcode.

What do the green and purple markers mean?

Green marker: a book worth picking up and scanning the barcode for details. Purple marker: a keyword or author on your watchlist. Markers are colour only, with no text on them, and tapping one does nothing. Scan the book's barcode to pull up its title and author.

Where does book information come from?

Book details such as title and author come from Open Library.

Juno is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon, eBay or Keepa.

Some books aren't recognized. What can I do?

• Use bright, even light. Avoid glare and strong backlight such as a window behind the shelf.
• Keep the spines upright and readable, and move slowly.
• Clean your camera lens.
• Very small, worn, or decorative spines may not be read. Scan the barcode instead.

The markers drift or float off the books.

Hold the phone steady for a second so tracking can settle, then move slowly. iPhones with LiDAR may place markers more precisely. If it keeps happening, report it and include your iPhone model.

Does Juno work offline?

No. Barcodes and spine text are read on your iPhone, but Juno needs an internet connection to identify books.

Why does Juno need the camera? Is it recording me?

No. Juno reads barcodes and spine text on your iPhone. Camera images aren't saved or uploaded. We send only the text or barcode numbers it reads, such as a title or ISBN, to our servers to look up the book.

I turned off camera access. How do I turn it back on?

Go to iPhone Settings → Juno → Camera, switch it on, and reopen Juno.

How much does Juno cost? Is there a free trial?

$14.99 a month or $149.99 a year, billed by Apple through your Apple ID. Eligible Apple IDs get a 7-day free trial. After that, the plan renews until you cancel. See the Terms of Use.

I subscribed, but the app still shows the paywall.

Stay signed in with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe, then tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen. Signing in alone doesn't attach a subscription. If you deleted your Juno account and created a new one, Restore is what attaches an Apple subscription that is still active.

How do I restore my purchase on a new iPhone?

Sign in with the same Apple ID, open Juno, and tap Restore Purchases on the subscription screen.

How do I cancel?

Apple bills the subscription, so you cancel it with Apple: iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Juno → Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the current billing period. Deleting the app or your Juno account does not cancel billing.

Can I get a refund?

Apple handles all App Store refunds, so we can't issue them directly. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com: sign in with your Apple ID, find the Juno charge, and choose "Request a refund."

How do I delete my account?

In the app, open Settings and tap Delete Account. This removes your Juno account and the data described in the Privacy Policy. It does not cancel your Apple subscription (see How do I cancel?). If in-app deletion fails, email contact@wunostudio.com from, or including, the Apple ID email you use with Juno, and we'll delete the account data we still hold.

How do I join the beta?

Juno is in beta on iPhone. Request an invite and we'll send a TestFlight invite to the Apple ID email on your iPhone. Install Apple's TestFlight app to accept it. Beta builds expire after 90 days, and TestFlight will prompt you to update.

Which iPhones does Juno support?

Juno needs an iPhone that supports ARKit. LiDAR isn't required, but it may place markers more accurately.
